TUB 2016 confirms the consolidation of Tryton
Even before TUB2016 began, expectations were optimistic. More than 80 people from around the world had registered for working sessions aimed at sharing viewpoints and experiences, identifying common needs, and considering cross-cutting solutions for the future developments Tryton will undergo. Almost all of them met at the Mobile World Centre, which provided its extraordinary venue in the heart of Barcelona for this important gathering.
The first day began with representatives of the Tryton Foundation explaining the new features that would be included in version 4.2, which was due to be released shortly. This was followed by success stories: companies from radically different fields explained why they had chosen Tryton and what results it had delivered. A Belgian manufacturer of billiard balls; a US law firm specializing in tax matters in the aviation sector; a French insurer; and a German portal designed to allow musicians to share their creations all described their experience with this business management tool.
There was also time to present proposals related to file exchange between applications and to explore the possibilities of offering Tryton to customers in SaaS (Software as a Service) mode.
On the second day of TUB2016, the focus shifted more towards ERP technology and less towards the user. Topics included system and database performance, software analysis and monitoring solutions, identification systems, and integration with other open technologies such as Drupal.
During the final three days, the activity moved to Sabadell, specifically to Infinitum Factory. There, the code sprints took place, with around thirty developers working hard to prepare the next version and improve the applications associated with Tryton.
We would like to thank everyone whose collaboration and involvement helped make TUB2016 such a productive event from a technological perspective. We would especially like to highlight the effort made by companies that travelled from places as far away as Argentina, the United States, Laos, and Egypt. The contributions of all TUB2016 participants will translate into clear benefits for Tryton’s growing user base.
